345 Buses Ready to Transport People to Their Hometowns for Free During Khmer New Year

PHNOM PENH: The Phnom Penh Capital Administration is preparing 345 buses to transport people to and from their hometowns for free during the Khmer New Year from 13-17 April 2023.

The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration has designated a total of 10 buses to transport people from National Road No. 1 from Phnom Penh to Kandal, from Prey Veng to Phnom Penh and from Svay Rieng to Phnom Penh. Buses in Kandal will depart from Veal Sbov bus station, buses in Prey Veng will depart from Prey Veng bus station, and buses in Svay Rieng will depart from Svay Rieng bus station.

On National Road No. 2, there will be five buses waiting to transport people from Phnom Penh to Kandal and from Takeo to Phnom Penh. People can wait for the buses to Kandal at the station in front of the Church of Jesus Christ (along Veng Sreng Boulevard in front of the Phnom Penh Military Police), while those wishing to travel from Takeo to Phnom Penh must wait at the O’Chambok roundabout.

On National Road No. 3, there will be a total of 10 buses waiting to transport people from Phnom Penh to Kep and vice versa, as well as from Phnom Penh to Kampot and vice versa. From Phnom Penh to Kep and Kampot, people must wait at the lot in front of the Phnom Penh Municipal Party (Road 2004), while from Kep to Phnom Penh, they must wait at Damnak Chang Eur Primary School, and from Kampot to Phnom Penh, they must wait at the main bus station of Kampot town.

On National Road No. 4, three buses will transport people from Phnom Penh to Kampong Speu and back, and seven buses will transport people from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville and back. From Phnom Penh to Kampong Speu and Sihanoukville, buses will depart from in front of Phnom Penh Municipal Party (Street 2004), while in Kampong Speu, buses will depart from the Kampong Speu market bus station, and in Sihanoukville, they will depart from the Sihanoukville Independence Monument.

On National Road No. 5, five buses will take people from Phnom Penh to Kampong Chhnang and back. From Phnom Penh, buses will depart from Russey Keo Park bus station, and returning from Kampong Chhnang, buses will depart from Phsar Leu bus station.

There will be 10 buses transporting people between Phnom Penh and Pursat, and 50 buses transporting people from Phnom Penh to Battambang. There will also be 50 buses prepared to transport people between Phnom Penh and Banteay Meanchey. Buses from Phnom Penh to Pursat, Battambang or Banteay Meanchey will depart from the Russey Keo Park bus station, while buses returning from Pursat will depart from Borey Oknha Phu Puy, returning from Battambang will depart from Pum Poi Market, and returning from Banteay Meanchey will depart from Serey Sophorn bus station.

On National Road No. 6, five buses will transport people between Phnom Penh and Kampong Thom, while 100 buses will transport people between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. Buses to Kampong Thom and Siem Reap will depart Phnom Penh from the Tep Mermaid roundabout (Chroy Changvar OCIC), while buses returning from Kampong Thom will depart from Stung Sen restaurant, and buses returning from Siem Reap will depart from Siem Reap Provincial Administrative Borey on Samdech Vibol Panha Sok An (St. 60m).

On National Roads No. 6 and 7, five buses will transport people from Phnom Penh to Kampong Cham and back, and an additional five buses will similarly transport people between Phnom Penh and Tbong Khmum. Buses from Phnom Penh will depart from the Royal Railway, while buses returning from Kampong Cham will depart from Kampong Cham Provincial Bus Station, and buses returning from Tbong Khmum will depart from Suong Market.

Finally, on National Roads No. 8 and 13, a total of 10 buses will shuttle people between Phnom Penh and Kratie, as well as between Phnom Penh and Stung Treng. Buses from Phnom Penh will depart from Kouch Kanong roundabout station, while buses returning from Kratie will depart from Kratie Provincial Department of Culture and Fine Arts (Preap Sar roundabout), and buses returning from Stung Treng will depart from Stung Treng Provincial Hall.
